Let Voice Lead When You Sync AI Voiceover

Wherever possible, edit the video to match the voiceover — not the other way around. Voiceover carries narrative logic. Footage is flexible. Trimming a B-roll clip by two seconds is faster than rewriting a paragraph.

Only adjust the voiceover when the edit is genuinely locked. When you do, Noiz AI's Text-to-Speech gives you three levers: rewrite the script, change the voice or model, and restructure segments using + Add Speaker.

Trim Script When AI Voiceover Runs Too Long

Your narration for a section runs 47 seconds; the video clip is 43 seconds. Four seconds over. Work through these fixes from fastest to most involved.

Trim the script. Open the segment in Text-to-Speech and find the sentence that's least essential — usually a transition, a restatement, or a supporting example. Delete it, then hit Speak It to regenerate. Text-to-Speech produces two versions; pick the one that fits tighter. A four-second overrun usually closes with one sentence removed.

Try a different voice. Different voices in Voice Library read at naturally different paces. Swap to a voice with a slightly faster delivery and hit Speak It again without changing the script. Check both generated versions — one may land closer to your target duration.

Extend the video clip slightly. If the overrun is under three seconds and the footage allows it, extend the B-roll clip by holding the last frame or adding a cutaway. Don't hold a static frame for more than two seconds — it starts to look like an editing mistake.

Add Lines When AI Voiceover Runs Too Short

Add a sentence to the end of the segment. Write one additional sentence that deepens the point — a specific example, a direct viewer address, or a brief transition that sets up the next section. Hit Speak It. The gap closes and the content improves.

After adding a sentence, listen to both generated versions and make sure the new line feels like it belongs. If it sounds like a different take, add an emotion tag (e.g. [calm]) at the start of the segment to keep delivery consistent.

Split the segment with + Add Speaker. If you need natural breathing room between ideas, split the content into two separate segments. The gap between segments creates white space in the audio — which adds duration without padding the script. Use pause markers for finer control over the beat between sentences.

Hit Visual Cues When Syncing AI Voiceover

A product appears on screen, a graph reveals, a title drops — and a specific word needs to land on that exact frame.

Isolate the key sentence in its own segment. Use + Add Speaker to break your script so the sentence that needs to hit the visual cue is a standalone segment. Export the audio, drop it into your editor, and place it precisely on the frame it needs to hit.

Add silence in your NLE. Once the key sentence is its own audio clip, add silence before it in Premiere, DaVinci, CapCut, or your editor of choice. Adjust in small increments until the line lands on the right frame. This is more precise than trying to fix timing inside the script.

Recalibrate Pace to Sync AI Voiceover Globally

Sometimes the issue isn't one section — the entire voiceover consistently runs long or short against the cut. This usually means the script was written at a different words-per-minute target than the voice generates naturally.

Test your words-per-minute before committing to a full project. Generate a single 60-second segment from your script in Text-to-Speech before editing your video. Check the actual output duration. This tells you your real WPM at the voice and model you've chosen.

Recalibrate your script word count. At a natural speaking pace, Noiz AI's Text-to-Speech generates approximately 130–150 words per minute of audio. For a more deliberate, documentary-style pace, target 110–120 words per minute. If you're consistently writing longer, adjust your per-minute target for future scripts rather than fixing timing after the fact on every project.
