A YuE2 cover stays recognizable because it is sung from a full score. Upload a song, and YuE2 reads its melody, then sings it in the style you describe with the same model and no cover-specific training. In M·A·P's SHS100K tests on 948 works, full-score covers reached 0.647 CLEWS mAP (how often the original remains identifiable) versus 0.006 without a score.

How does YuE2 compare with Suno?

YuE2 is open-weight and writes an editable melody-and-chord score before it sings; creators can monetize songs on noiz. Suno is a closed hosted generator.

On WildSongBench SongBench average, YuE2-3B best-of-8 scores 6.9632, ahead of Mureka 9 at 6.9377 and Suno v5 at 6.8721; a single YuE2 run scores 6.7316 and does not beat Mureka 9 or Suno v5. On MuLan (text-audio similarity), Suno v5 scores 0.5428, above YuE2 best-of-8 at 0.5051; Suno's current product models are v6, v6-wild, and v6-mini, and Mureka's product page leads with V9.5, which is not the Mureka 9 row.
